To our Community and Veteran/Military Supporters, Parents/Guardians of JROTC Cadets, and St. James teachers,
I hope everyone is enjoying this awesome fall weather. I wanted to send a “Save the Date” for our upcoming
Veterans Day Ceremony.
I am so proud of our school as Veterans Day has a special significance to so many of us. For those that have attended our ceremonies in the past, you know how special our ceremony really is.
What: St. James High School Veterans Day Ceremony
When: Fri, 10 November 2023; 1000-1100 (please arrive by 0945, doors open at 0915); will also be live streamed so can watch in classrooms (Seniors and select Junior Classes will be allowed to go to the auditorium). Video will be available after as well.
Where: SJHS Auditorium
Why: To recognize all Veterans for their service and sacrifice
Who: Select friends, family, Veterans, and local community are invited to attend (if you’re on this email you are invited); However please feel free to invite others in the community (especially Veterans)
Our Guest Speaker will be Colonel (retired) Elizabeth (Liz) Litvin, She has served her country for over 26 years, beginning as an Apache helicopter pilot, then moving into human resources. Her tours included duty in Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan and the Pentagon. She retired in 2020 as an advisor to the commander of I Corps at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State and moved to our area. Colonel Litvin became a mentor with Miss Ruby’s Kids, an early-childhood education program.
She now chairs its board.
